#TeamTrees
By Cody F. and edited by Grant K.
Have you heard of #TeamTrees? The TeamTrees challenge was formed by a well-known Youtuber known as Mrbeast, A.K.A. Jimmy Donaldson, and the National Arbor Day Foundation. Their goal is to plant 20 million trees by December 2022. The money they receive is given to the Arbor Day Foundation, who will start planting in January 2020. As of this moment, they have planted over 16 million trees, which is tracked on their website, which you can find below.
MrBeast has been known to hurt the environment in past videos, so he decided to plant 20 million trees to celebrate hitting 20 million subscribers, but also as a way of repaying the environment.
Within the first day of the beginning of the site, $100,000 was raised by fans and other Content Creators. Many well-known people have donated large amounts to this foundation. For example, PewDiePie, one of the biggest Youtube Stars, has donated $69,420. Elon Musk has donated $1,000,000. Another well-known person named Tobias Lütke (CEO of Shopify) has donated $1,000,001! At this time, this is the most trees donated.
If you are an avid YouTube watcher, you might remember MrBeast’s YouTuber Royale competition. The popular YouTuber theodd1sout, also known as James Rallison, who was on the winning team and won 13 of $100,000 from this event, gave back his $33,333 (He must’ve kept his 33 cents. They donated the last penny to charity). You can find theodd1sout’s video on this below.
The writers here at The Rambitious Monthly love this idea. What do you think about #teamtrees? All I can say is, “For the Lorax!”

Yearbook Hype
By Zenna I.
This year will be memorable even our yearbook! All our events and everyone is going to be on the yearbook. Our plan is to keep each happy memory in the book. Our student staff volunteered to make the best yearbook so you can see how much you've grown to be part of the ALMS family.
I have asked Camryn V. what will the design be for our 2019-2020 yearbook. She has said video games. I saw the design and amazed me. It was made by one of our young artists from school. Spectacular!
Malika C. and Zenna I. believe that since we only have a few staff that everyone should do their part to complete our job. I asked a certain question to why our yearbook staff would like to join yearbook and why. Angelisa I. said,” I joined yearbook to take pictures for the yearbook and help with the designs.” Malika C. said, “I believe that the yearbook will look amazing like it always does. Since 8th graders have more experience in taking photos, us 7th graders what to learn from them so we can be just as talented. I joined this year to take the best photos and capture the moments of people I don't even know yet in this school.” Zenna I. said,”I want our yearbook to be unique and be on trend. I had so many ideas I would like to contribute that's why I joined yearbook. I want to take photos of people to make new friends and bring joy to each page.”
I asked the expectations of Carmelo S. since he is not part of the yearbook club. I wanted to know his thoughts. Carmelo S. want to see great new features so this will beat all the other yearbooks.
In conclusion, I say that no matter how the yearbook looks like I believe it will make everyone's face happy and for people who are leaving the school next year keep this yearbook as a memory.

Technology News/ Fortnite
By Cody F.
Are you one of the 250 million users that play Fortnite? Were you waiting for the Season 11 event on Sunday, October 13th only to find yourself staring at a black screen that users described as “the black hole?” The bad news is that you probably wasted a lot of time glued in front of a black screen anxiously waiting for the launch of Season 11. The good news is that you definitely weren’t alone. Millions of users have been waiting for the newest release which game experts think may be launched any day now and is probably part of a gimmick to keep players on the edge of their seats.
The release of Season 11 was supposed to be a big update with the location/map. Many fans were looking forward to the new update. Sixth-grader, Josh Szeto an avid Fortnite player says, “ I was confused and kinda sad when I realized I couldn't play Fortnite anymore. I waited about 40 minutes at the black screen then got off and realized nothing was going to change for a while.”
So will Season 11 live up to all the hype? We’ll have to wait to find out, but I don't think we will have to wait for long.
